Waterproof

To ensure long-term durability, Weatherbeeta rugs and blankets have an outer fabric that is 100% waterproof.

Breathable

‘Breathability’ is the quality that allows sweat and moisture to pass through the blanket to the outside air, where it can evaporate.

Weatherbeeta Rugs and Blankets are made up of a hydrophilic, or water-loving coating on the inside of the fabric that draws excess sweat and moisture to it. Temperature differences between the air inside and outside the blanket then force moisture outwards, helping to keep your horse comfortable and dry.

Taped Seams

Weatherbeeta blankets feature fully-taped seams, adding a highly-desirable  physical barrier to the seam,  helping to keep moisture out.

As noted by Weatherbeeta, occasionally, in extreme weather conditions and heavy downpours, the sewn in areas of the Rug/Blanket such as the surcingles, tail flap etc. (which cannot be seam taped) may allow a small amount of water penetration through the stitch holes.

Ripstop

By modifying the warp and weft of their fabric, the fabric is able to ‘contain’ any rips or tears.  Weatherbeeta fabrics feature hundreds of small squares that give them a unique checkerboard look. In the event of a rip, these small squares contain the rip and stop it from spreading the length of the fabric.
